Dr. Rainer Werning ist Politik- und Sozialwissenschaftler und Publizist mit den Schwerpunkten Südost- und Ostasien. Seit 1970 u.a. mehrfache und längere Studienaufenthalte in den Philippinen; Autor zahlreicher Publikationen über die Regionen und ehemals Lehrbeauftragter am Institut für Orient- und Asienwissenschaften der Universität Bonn sowie am Fachbereich Kultur- und Sozialwissenschaften der Universität Osnabrück. Herausgeber und Co-Autor von „Handbuch Philippinen„
„Das Philippinenhaus soll als ein Knotenpunkt/ein Zentrum gesellschaftlicher, kultureller und politischer Kommunikation zwischen der österreichischen und philippinischen Gesellschaft und deren Bevölkerung fungieren.
Durch den Bau eines Integrationshauses wie dem Philippinenhaus wird dieser Knotenpunkt auch erstmalig in der 50-jährigen Migrationsgeschichte der ausgewanderten Filipin@s nach Österreich baulich manifestiert.“
Ralph Chan, Soziologe und Doktorand an der Universität Wien. Er hat sich aufgrund seiner eigenen Biographie für das Thema „Philippinen/Filipin@s“ interessiert – mit anderen Worten: ein Filipino, der in Österreich geboren und aufgewachsen ist.
We need Ang Tahanang Pilipino Austria – Das Philippinenhaus to provide an ideal venue wherein the Filipino community could engage in a variety of artistic and cultural activities which would enhance the sustainability of our cultural heritage – for the present and future generations of Filipino-Austrians. How? by means of exhibits, lectures, cultural shows, etc.
Kailangan natin Ang Tahanang Pilipino Austria upang magkaroon tayo ng isang angkop na lugar na maaaring puntahan ng mga mamamayan na interesadong magkaroon ng isang “munting sulyap sa paraan ng pamumuhay” ng mga Pilipino; at upang mapalalim pa ang pagkakaibigan at kooperasyon ng mga lahing Pilipino, Austriyano at iba pang interesadong nasyonalidad.
Ana Maria Langer is an ambassador of spreading Philippine culture in Austria. It has become her passion through the years to raise awareness and appreciation of Philippine art, culture and traditions in our community.
There are many reasons why we need Ang Tahanang Pilipino Austria – Das Philippinenhaus and two words come to mind:
Tagpuan – place where multi-generations, ethnicities, religions, regions mingle with our host country and international community)
Bayanihan – helping each other (Filipinos: youth, retirees, entrepreneurs, artists, Filipino community organizations etc.)

Ang Tahanang Pilipino Austria – Das Philippinenhaus will be a place for active and retired Filipinos where they can attend organized city tours, board games, book club, casual walk meetups and many more. This will be a place that can provide them a sense of purpose in their retirement years by having them involved in humanitarian projects and activities.
Ang Tahanang Pilipino Austria – Das Philippinenhaus will provide a space where creative and talented Filipinos can showcase their artworks and help market their products to the international community, thereby, providing livelihood to poor Filipinos.
Ivy Melchor moved to Austria in 2012 to join her spouse and started a family. She worked at the American Women’s Association (AWA Vienna) and became inspired with the concept of having a place for international seniors and newcomers to belong to and get involved in variety of activities.
Ang Tahanang Pilipino Austria – Das Philippinenhaus serves to promote camaraderie friendship and unity among different groups of Filipinos from the various regions in the Philippines. Further, it provides a conducive and apolitical environment for the free exchange of ideas and opinions.
